BIOGRAPHY OF THE SHENASI CARPET'S FOUNDER

MR. HOSSEIN SHENASI

When Hossein Shenasi was 12 in his hometown of Tabriz, Iran, he began weaving carpets for his uncle and then went on to learn family business. In Tehran bazaar he worked in the famous Momtaz carpet store which mainly dealt in the sale, cleaning, and repair of hand-knotted carpets for more than twenty years he learned all aspects of carpet restoration whether weaving damaged areas, color run removal, stretching out of shaped carpets, binding, or fringing. He then immigrated to Canada in the late 1970s to pursue what he had learned.
